We do not recommend that you handle any adult wildlife yourself—contact a wildlife rehabilitator or animal control agency for advice. Remember to keep children and pets away from all wildlife. Most importantly, NEVER give any food or liquids to injured or orphaned wildlife until you have talked to a rehabilitator. Feeding the wrong thing, at the wrong time or in the wrong way can harm the animal.
Please remember that wild animals need specialized care and medical treatment that only a licenced wildlife rehabilitator can provide. In Ontario, it is illegal for the general public to care for wildlife.

In other cases, there are signs of illness or injury that indicate an animal needs rescuing.
If you have found an orphaned or injured small mammal, follow these interim instructions, call RVWS at 613-258-9480 or email for an appointment and directions.
